It's the word "char" in the
restaurants name the menu truly features.
At Jameson's,
charred doesn't mean blackened. Rather,
Jameson's charbroiled
items are done with just the right amount
of charcoal grilled flavor. This holds
true whether you order shrimp, steak,
ribs, or any of the other charbroiled
choices. Jameson's
offers a sound selection of steaks and
chops. The Porterhouse weighs in at 24
ounces, but they also have a lady sized
filet.
If you like sweet, sticky
barbecue, you'll want to try one of
Jameson's combos, either the New York
strip and half slab of ribs or the half
barbecued chicken and half slab of ribs.
The pork was tender and lean.
 Jameson's
menu also offers more diversity than the
average steakhouse. There are plenty of
chicken choices, three kinds of kabobs,
pasta, plus scrod, orange roughy, and
French fried or baked jumbo shrimp.

There are many elements that
go into making an excellent restaurant.
The obvious ones include the quality
of food, its preparation and creativity
in the kitchen, the less obvious are
things like how the staff treats you,
and general atmoshphere. A lot of
restaurants do a few of those things
well, but just a few restaurants do
all of them impeccably.
Jameson's
Charhouse, 1331 Dundee
Road in Arlington Heights, is one
of those restaurants, and is our pick
for the best restaurant of the year.
The first things that struck us during
our visits at Jameson's was the neighborhood
atmosphere, especially aroud the large,
pub-like bar. The staff takes time
to learn your name and to treat like
a regular from your very first visit.

"I wanted to thank you for the excellent food and service on Christmas eve night. We had a reservation for 6pm. Although the restaurant was jammed with people waiting to be seated we were seated by 6:03pm. Our waiter was George and he was excellent. The food was AMAZING. I had swordfish, first time trying this fish. It was melt in your mouth tender. My friend had salmon and said it was equally delicious. We were also impressed with the bread, soup and salad. We ordered martinis which were also excellent. We would have ordered dessert but were too full. We were walking out of the rest. within an hour and 10 minutes which allowed us to make the movie we were going to see. We were so glad we chose Jamesons and have been recommending it to others since. Jamesons is at the top of my list for quality food and service. "We live in Racine, WI, the first time at your restaurant was in Feb. 2012...The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was the same. My sister lives in Loves Park, IL and we try to get together once every couple months for dinner. So we suggested your restaurant, they have never been to a Jamesons. We all had the Jamesons Ribeye...once again the food was fantastic. And the service is unbelieveable. The drive for us is about an hour and 15 minutes...and definitely worth the drive. "My husband and I have been to your restaurant many times in the past and it has always been very good. Your wait staff are always nice and helpful. The food is always well prepared.
But yesterday the service was wonderful and food perfect. Our waiter George knew how the food was prepared and what was in it. He seemed excited about his job and when I asked him to tell the chef that the food was wonderful he went straight to the chef to let him know what I said. Also I don't want to forget about the men who are the busboys. They are all quick and very nice as well. Your staff made our early dinner a wonderful experience.
